2011 is Here? Already?

Yes boys and girls, out with old and in with the new.  Zoom.  Our New Year  weekend was hampered a bit by Virginia's cold - we didn't get to do our traditional New Year's Day morning hike to watch the Stealth Bomber, but enjoyed the day regardless.

I really don't have any philosophical recount of 2010 prepared except to say that it was jam packed with stuff - way more than what is normal for us. Zoom, it all goes by so fast.  So instead, I've just thrown in a few images from the New Years Eve, and New Years day:

I was just around 32 degrees this morning, as evidenced by the ice medalion created by the frozen kitty watering bowl.

We never make a big deal with our Christmas lights.

I like the LED kind though, they look pretty good.

Happy Anniversary to Us

by Doug 24. December 2010 16:18

It was 1 year ago that Virginia and I headed over to the Beverly Hills Court House to tie the knot.  It was a very nice day, not much drama, and a wicked Chinese brunch afterwards.   Cut to 365 day's later, and WOW, my first year as a husband is already over.

And it has been a very happy journey.  Life is better when your best friend is always at your side.  When bad times hit, they're not as bad.  When good times shine, they shine brighter. It's been win/win and thinking about LBM  ("Life Before Marriage) I'd never want to go back to those days.

So to my lovely wife I say "Thank You" and "I Love You!!"

Thanksgiving 2010

by Doug 28. November 2010 12:39

This year's Thanksgiving week was especially great, because we had two special visitors from Missouri: Virginia's sister Candy and her (new) husband Ken. It was Ken's first visit to meet with his new in-laws from the West coast, and by all accounts they both had an enjoyable week of visiting, travelling and celebrating.

Well, the same goes for us too. We enjoyed their company for a small hike and dinner on Thanksgiving Eve. They are a great couple and we had a great visit.

For the Turkey Day feast, Tommy hosted at his house, and the food was just awesome. Dude - you out-did yourself this year! Thank you for putting in all the time and effort in to preparing the meal, it was truly delicious.

A November jaunt up to Mt. McGroarty with Candy & Ken.

Thanksgiving dinner - just before the feast!  Great photo of us - shot by Candy, camera by Tommy.
