Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure 5k

Pasadena Rose Bowl March 15 - The sea of pink on the green grass that surrounds the Rose Bowl lets any casual observer know that its the day of the Race For The Cure.   We're back this year and ready to run for our friend Lisa - who passed away from breast cancer January 2007.

The official results are posted the day after the race:

1560 Total Runners

Place Name Sex Age Address Time Bib
749 Douglas Moore M 40something Tujunga 33:07 5962
829 Virginia Obrien F 40something else Glendale 34:20 6003

Amazingly, for a pair of non-runner 40something's, we finished right in the middle of the pack.  Not bad.

The Office (Definitely Not the NBC Sitcom)

Space.  The final frontier. (Queue the theme from Star Trek)  The never ending quest to maximize the elusive 3 dimensional gold throughout my domestic kingdom.

At some point I decided that new office space could be gained by converting much (but not all) of the garage space.  I've been picking away at this project since last November when I laid the first joist for the sub-floor.

Virginia took these pictures of our day putting in the new door that will serve as the main access.  It was TOUGH cutting through the stucco wall.  But with her help we got the door in place.

AdventureCouple - Typical Friends of Mine

Need some vicarious adventure in your life for you and your hubby?  Dream of the outdoor life but can't get your collective butts off the couch?  Let AdventureCouple do the 'adventuring' for you with their newly launched web site: http://adventurecouple.org .

But seriously folks, the AdventureCouple (Greg and Marilee) are friends of mine who love to climb, ski, bike, hike and lots more. I can personally attest to their adventurous spirit after our weekend up at Mammoth Mountain

I'm excited to see Greg got his adventures posted to the net - and is also nice to see some of my other friends featured there too.  Check out the site, post a comment and tell'em Doug sent ya!
