September 19 2008 - A World Wide Welcome to Elise Gindrow

We spent an exciting hour at the hospital to visit with a special baby born on Sept 19th.  Elise Marie Gindroz is 8 pounds 4 ounces and 19.5 inches long.  Proud parents are Virginia's sister Lizzy and husband Chris.  We are so excited for them! This is their second child.

Chris had mentioned something that I did not think about until later. How often do you get to hold a 1 day old baby in your arms? I've never had that experience before.  Elise was such a joy to hold.   Alert, pink, quite, making lots of funny faces.  The best things in life are the simplest.

Here are some pictures (and a bonus video) of Elise at the hospital at 1 day old:

Microsoft Kills Ad's about Nothing

They came and went very quickly.  "Misunderstood", "confusing" and "strange" - was the typical feedback from viewers to a new TV Ad campaign from Microsoft starring a very odd couple: Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld.  The product they were pushing was Windows Vista - which is actually never mentioned in either of the ads.

The two ad's were aired on broadcast and cable stations. The first ad was really weird.  Jerry helps Bill buy the best fitting shoes at the local "Shoe Circus" shoe store. The second ad was kind of entertaining.  Sort of like a lost episode of the old "Seinfeld" sitcom. Bill and Jerry need to "get real" - so they move in with a typical suburban family, complete with a live-in grand mother and annoying teenagers.

Here's the first one:
